Tubeless, winter, and the puncture I still got
After two winters of fixing pinch flats with frozen fingers, I switched to tubeless tyres in October. Here is how the season went.
What got better
Lower pressure on muddy forest paths, noticeably more grip on wet leaves, and most small thorns sealed before I even noticed them.
What did not
Sealant does not like near-freezing temperatures and becomes sluggish. In December a piece of glass opened a cut too large to seal, and I ended up putting a tube in anyway — at dusk, in the rain, naturally.
Verdict: I am keeping them, and a spare tube stays in the bag.
